I cannot believe it is already October. Happily, only three more months and it will be the New Year. This one has been the worst I have ever known in my lifetime, all around the world we are suffering and because of it no doubt life will never be the same. Not only have we all been hit with the loss of friends and loved ones, and many livelihoods and businesses destroyed, plus financial hardship for so many, but to make this year even worse, also in so many countries there is social unrest, riots, fires, tidal waves, and hurricanes.’
Living here in Australia we are truly blessed, we are a free and noble people who listen to advice given and most of Australians and permanent residents do all that is requested of us to protect ourselves, loved ones, and all our fellow Australians. Here in Queensland our borders have been closed, with extremely heavy fines if special permission is not given to be able to cross the border, but even then, two weeks quarantine is insisted upon. Of course ,there are always those, who do not listen who sneak across controlled borders and cause havoc in their wake.
Thankfully, our numbers for Covid 19 are not as horrific as overseas. We Australians are I believe free spirits, but we also allow common sense to guide us and to curb the loose cannon hidden dormant in us all.
The Australian Government has done so much to try to alleviate the unbelievable stress for those who have lost their jobs. In times of illness or financial stress they do try to help us survive and find some light at the end of the tunnel, and I thank them and will be forever grateful and proud to call myself an Australian.
This year has set Shadowlight Publishing back a few steps especially health wise, and there has been so much needed of my time to overcome obstacles set in my way. I have never been really house bound before, and it is amazing the things you do not notice that need attention to hearth and home, food preparation, and the ever constant bills (amazing isn’t it, you pay one and two seconds later it is time to pay again!) Sadly because of this the computer sometimes is never reached. Horror of horrors I am a housewife and it sucks!!!
Oh well, I am sure if you are reading all of this you feel the same way. I write all of this because Lord R.e. Taylor thinks my blogs are far too long, maybe so, but I am a writer, and when I get the time I sure love to write!
“Oh, for goodness sakes get on with it, Liz!, My darling friend Sue Manger would say! Still I do have an excuse this blog is intended for my dear friends and followers, for not communicating with you all on a personal basis on Facebook etc. Time keeps stealing away my free hours, but you all are always in my heart and I pray always for your safety and well-being and success.
To update you on what is happening with Shadowlight Publishing, Lord R.e. Taylor is writing so many magnificent poems, he must have at least two new poetry books. He also is doing a magnificent job with his Art direction and every day I puff with pride to be associated with such a talent. He also has the greatest patience as I have six of his books still to edit.
By the way do go to our shop we are updating it as I write. Do remember for the same price you can put your own picture with our short verses, on love, wisdom, and inspiration and it will only cost you $3, now that is a REAL bargain. I suggest you order in a standard frame size of your choice. ( Brindle, our Staffy dog, demands the finest of cuisine, so please help by buying one of our Picture/Poetry/cards.) . Right now, we are gearing up for the Holiday Season, with Christmas and Thanksgiving and soon the blessed New Year 2021!
