Shadowlight Publishing Blog April/ May 2023
Apologies to all our many supporters for our lack of communication in the last three months; health issues have been causing problems, but happily, all is well again, and R.e Taylor and I are back on track for a year of great endeavour, climbing mountains, and overcoming all the obstacles that block our way! Let us once again fly like eagles and not be like grey lizards hidden in the undergrowth! We are both so creative; it is time to find a financial partner who will recognize all we have to offer. Rob’s books would make incredible movies or even a television series. Also my three Musicals (book, music, and lyrics) “Just by Bloomies” and “The Gold Coast International” I believe would make memorable movies, and “Charlie Cinderfella” possibly a great animated television show. Please, if any of you reading this can help in some small way by offering feedback for what we create or by knowing someone who could help us, that would be more than appreciated and we would be eternally grateful! The road we are traveling together is not easy, but then nothing worthwhile in life is ever easy! I suppose that is the real excitement and challenge for the dreamers of this world, in whatever project they embark upon! As I have stated many times before, I only have only one enemy, and that is time. Still, no doubt time is the enemy of us all, for who knows what tomorrow may bring! Who would have predicted the devastating world impact of Covid, or for the world to be in such chaos that some are even discussing the possibility of World War 111? Now a group of Nazis is even gaining attention here in Australia. As a young girl, I played Anne in “The Diary of Anne Frank” at the Theatre Royal in Sydney and The Princess Theatre in Melbourne, so this is quite incomprehensible to me! Once again, I repeat the title in Pete Seeger’s song ‘When Will They Ever Learn’. Well, let us move on to a happier subject! Only this morning, while thinking about this post, I realized once again that the best wisdom I can impart to you as a senior citizen. Try your best to rid yourself of the negative that life so surrounds us with and live every nanosecond to the fullest! The here and now is all we have, so grab it with arms outstretched, fill your life with loving, caring family and friends, and do not be afraid to try, even if you fail. We often admire the one who comes last in the marathon as much as the one in the winner’s circle. It is all a matter of perception. With those words in mind, now Rob and I are working on an Australian Calendar with poems for 2024 and, taking my poetry book ‘My Country Australia,’ adding photos in preparation for the 2032 Olympics here in Brisbane. Rob is also writing a follow-up to his Aussie Yarns’. We are even thinking of traveling around Australia with our delights joy ( our dog Brindal Boy Taylor) in our hot new red Ford Escape, and picking up local tales along the way! Typical of Lord R.e.Taylor, he especially wants to visit Black Mountain near Cooktown in Northern Queensland, which he wrote about in his last Aussie Yarns. I am terrified of that! They say once a person ventures into the Black Mountains they are never seen again. Luckily Rob may have a little trouble walking the distance, thank goodness! One must be so grateful for a disability at times!!! Well, this is it for our March 2023 Blog. The moment we post this, Rob and I and darling Brindal Boy are about to embark on a short adventure in Ruby Red, to an unknown destination! Rob believes that to be part of the fun! Brindal’s tail is already wagging nineteen to the dozen and take our word for it that tail is like a whip; we are constantly being beaten senseless! STAY SAFE, dear friends, and may life shower on you every blessing! Covid type hugs, Lizzie W and Lord R.e Taylor.] |
